Popular TV journalist Hussein Mohammed has been appointed Head of Communications in Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential campaign team.

The former Citizen TV news anchor quit mainstream media two years ago after 10 year stint and got into consultancy and was in December 2019 awarded the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS) by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Dr Ruto announced the appointment on Twitter after his United Democratic Alliance Party members met to append the political pact with Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC Party which was announced during the latter’s National Delegates Conference at Bomas of Kenya on January 23.

“Renowned TV journalist has been appointed Head of Communications in William Ruto Presidential campaign. Welcome to the Hustler team,” DP Ruto said.

The journalist while responding to the appointment said he shared with the hustler story on bottom-up economic model.

“Nothing gives me more pleasure than being part of this team that is driving a paradigm shift in our politics and ultimately, GOVERNANCE! From Top-down, to BOTTOM-UP,” he shared.
