Tharaka Nithi Woman Rep Beatrice Nkatha is on the spot for sharing information about a scheduled retreat between Tangatanga MPs and Deputy President William Ruto in Nanyuki.
Ms Nkatha, who is Dr Ruto’s point person in Tharaka Nithi, mistakenly shared the schedule in a public group before members took screenshots and shared them widely on social media platforms.
Her last-minute rush to ‘erase the mess’ from the group was rather too late as the majority of the members had already shared the images amongst themselves.
The message was intended to reach her counterparts who will before the retreat, converge in Karen for lunch tomorrow (Friday) and later leave for Nanyuki in a convoy.
“…Our retreat with boss will be this Friday at Aberdare Prestige & Royal Cottages just before the Nanyuki airstrip. We are being requested to start with lunch in Karen at 12:30 pm then leave together in convoy on Friday,” read part of the forwarded message.
The MPs had in the message been asked to mobilize each other.
The Woman Rep has following the incident received backlash from her colleagues who have accused her of being reckless for spilling the beans.
“It has elicited mixed and ugly reactions because we never wanted to publicize the retreat,” an MP from Mt Kenya East allied to the DP told The Press Point.
