The Mount Kenya University student who allegedly murdered his girlfriend, whose lifeless body was discovered in Githurai on July 13, 2021, was also the main suspect in the killing of his brother, wife and their child early this year.
The deceased, identified as Christine Ambani, had gone to meet her purported boyfriend before booking a room.
Reports indicate the duo had made arrangements with the hotel’s management that their meeting would last a few hours. The boyfriend Mr Innocent Kalio Makokha later went and settled the payment for a night stay.

The 23-year-old Makokha would later in the night stab the third-year Business Administration student severally on the neck leading to her death.
Detectives have since established that the suspect had earlier this year been arrested in connection to having killed the three relatives by setting their house on fire while they were inside.
The office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) had ordered a public inquest to ascertain whether the accusations of setting the house on fire were true.
Mr Makhokha would later be released under unclear circumstances even before his relatives were buried.
He further went ahead to disrupt their burial preparations and even destroyed the family’s property, reports indicate.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) confirmed the arrest of the suspect after several days of manhunt.
“He has been on the run since committing the heinous crime and has been engaging detectives in a cat and mouse game,” read part of the report shared by DCI on Twitter.
The student will be charged with murder.
