The National Council of Elders Chair Phares Rutere has decried delayed prosecution of leaders implicated in graft which still remains a thorny issue in Kenya.
The official asked the Judiciary to ensure the cases before the courts are expedited for Kenyans to have confidence in the agencies tasked with dealing with corruption.
Failure to determine the cases within the shortest time, he said, would make the corrupt continue looting from public coffers.
“We would like to see convictions so that others are deterred from stealing public funds,” said Mr Rutere.
“Delayed prosecution makes it hard to recover the stolen properties and proceeds from corruption,” he added.
