The National Council of Elders has asked BBI secretariat to employ their members to spearhead civic education for BBI so that Kenyans understand the proposed constitutional amendments.
Chairperson Phares Rutere said the majority of Kenyans had not read the report and should therefore be adequately educated on its importance.
He told off leaders (among them Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata) for claiming that the BBI report was unpopular and asked them to wait until all Kenyans have read it.
“Many Kenyans have not read the BBI report and that does not mean it is unpopular,” Rutere said.
