Seven Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party MCAs in Nairobi have been removed from various County Assembly Committees over defiance.
The rebel legislators are accused of disobeying the Party and officials’ instructions by orchestrating Minority Whip Peter Imwatok removal from office which has since caused divisions in the Party.
They are Fredrick Omondi (Kayole Central), Redson Otieno (Ngei), Kennedy Oyugi (Highrise), Maurice Gari (Nairobi West), Clarence Munga (Kabiro), Jared Okode (Mathare North) and Lower Savannah’s Nicholas Okumu.
The development comes following the May 26 show-cause letter by the ODM National Chair John Mbadi instructing Mr Imwatok to de-whip the MCAs from committees.
