A 14-year-old boy from Suba in Homabay County was found dead in suspected suicide case after his parents locked him inside the room to stop him from going out to watch a football match.
The boy had requested the mother to allow him go watch UEFA Champions League final between Chelsea and Manchester City which was to start at 10PM on Saturday night and which the former won 1-0.
Mfangano North Chief Bernard Oloo said the boy’s mother declined and locked him in his room from outside only to later on the material night find his body with his neck tied with a trouser.
The parents revealed that the young boy was unhappy with their decision, something that might have led him to taking away his life.
Investigations have been launched to establish the exact cause of the death, while the body lies at Kirindo Mortuary in Suba South.
