Police in Nanyuki, Laikipia have launched investigations into a murder incident where a Kenya Defence Forces soldier shot dead his girlfriend before taking away his life.
Reports indicate the officer sneaked out of a military base and went to the girlfriend’s house within Nanyuki town where the incident occurred.
The soldier reportedly used his AK-47 rifle to kill the woman before turning the trigger to himself.
He was pronounced dead at Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital with the bodies moved to the facility’s morgue according to police sources.
Detectives are piecing information to establish what transpired before the incident.
