Laikipia county government has sacked two nurses working at Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital over recent death of a 58-year-old Halima Hassan due to negligence by health care workers.
Ms Hassan, who was in need of urgent medical attention, died on May 31 while at the hospital as medics celebrated a birthday of their colleague.
The patient was rushed to the hospital while complaining of severe headache.
Less than 24 hours later, another patient Jane Njoki died at the same hospital from hemorrhage with her family accusing the medics of laxity.
Governor Ndiritu Muriithi earlier said stern action would be taken against the medics ollowing the incident.
