Two people, a pilot and a passenger, have died in a plane crash at Nanyuki airstrip.
A two-seater Husky aircraft Reg No 5Y-KWL that the duo was traveling in crashed immediately after takeoff from Nanyuki Civil Airport in Laikipia.
The plane was heading to Meru National Park after having completed a routine patrol at Solio Rhino Sanctuary.
The evacuation process guarded by the military is ongoing.
In a press release, Kenya Wildlife Service said the victims were their members of staff.
“The cause of the crash is yet to be established and investigations are underway,” KWS said.
