Turkana County Commissioner has issued a shoot to kill directive to all armed bandits following the re-emergence of banditry attacks in the area.
The administrator said the new wave of criminals was a threat to the peaceful coexistence of communities in the area and warned of dire consequences against culprits.
The directive comes following the death of two people, a 30-year-old woman and a minor who were shot dead by bandits at a raid in Napeitom, Turkana West on Thursday.
An unknown number of livestock was also stolen during the raid that has cause tension in the region with locals calling on the government to move with speed and restore peace and calmness.
