A young lady is mourning the death of her lover who died shortly after they took Ugali and fish meal together at a lounge in Murang’a county.
Mr Fredrick Opiyo had left Nairobi for Murang’a and while on the way, asked Ms Mary Mwende, 35, to cook Ugali that they would take with fish he had carried.
Unknown to her, the evening date would be their last moment together.
The man, immediately after arriving in Maragua, booked a room and was joined by the woman shortly after and enjoyed the meal.
After the eating was over, the deceased got into the bathroom where he spent about two minutes before Mwende went in to have hers.
It is while she took shower, that she heard Opiyo gasping for breath prompting her to rush out and alert the security team at the establishment of the development and seek help to rush him to the hospital.
But it was rather too late- she found the man dead. The body was moved to Murang’a Hospital Morgue awaiting post-mortem to establish the cause of the death.
Detectives who searched the scene found an empty sachet of Vega 100 according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
Vega 100 is a drug used to treat erectile dysfunction (impotence) in men and increases blood flow to the penis helping men get or maintain an erection.
