President Uhuru Kenyatta has condoled with Kitui families that lost their loved ones in last Saturday’s Mwingi bus tragedy.
In a statement sent to media houses, the President also urged motorists to heed to government advisory measures against attempting to cross swollen rivers during the rainy season.
The appeal comes as death toll from the tragedy rose to 32 after nine more bodies were recovered by divers on Sunday.
The rescue time also managed to retrieve the bus wreckage from the river.
The bus, that was taking Mwingi Catholic Church choir members to a wedding in Nuu lost control and was swept by the swollen River Enziu in Mwingi East.
More than 20 people believed to have been in the bus are yet to be accounted for with the rescue mission underway.
