Police in Isiolo have arrested four men transporting 23 kilograms of bhang of estimated street value of Sh1 million along Moyale-Isiolo highway.
The officers, manning a roadblock at Archers Post, established that the vehicle, enroute Nairobi from Moyale, had narcotics by use of sniffer dogs.
On realizing that the officers had realized there were illegal drugs in the vehicle, the driver tried to flee prompting a chase by the police officers who also forced to fire in the air forcing the driver to stop.
County Police Commander Joseph Kigen told journalists that the consignment was hidden in a compartments inside the hired vehicle’s fuel tank.

The police boss warned drug dealers of business unusual and called for concerted efforts from all in dealing with the drug menace.
“Our officers are on high alert and committed to ending the vice that has ruined lives of many youths in the region,” Mr Kigen said.
