A retired teacher and his wife were on Thursday morning burnt to death in a suspected arson attack in Kisii County.
Sameta village residents raised alarm after seeing smoke coming from the house but their efforts to put out the fire were futile.
Mr Mogoa Moruri was a retired teacher while his wife Florence was Gekongo SDA Primary School headteacher.
Police have since launched investigations to establish the cause of the fire and the suspects behind the criminal act that happened around 3:30 am.
It is claimed that the couple had a protracted land row with some local residents.
