Police in Kakamega are holding a man whose bull killed a 60-year-old woman as he drove it home from a bull-fighting match.
The bull is said to have broken loose and charged at Felista Luda, the elderly woman, and two others at Lutoto village before trampling on her.
The two other women managed to escape but the woman was attacked and killed on the spot.
The incident sparked fury among members of the public who threatened to slaughter the bull before Mr Josphat Bilimo was arrested over negligence.
The bull, nicknamed Tusker, has also been detained at Khayega Police Station as investigations into the last Friday incident continue.
Kakamega East Police Commander Robert Makau said his officers rescued the bull from the irate villagers.
The man is set to face negligence charges.
