The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has warned Kenyans whose Police Clearance Certificates were directly generated through their email accounts that the action amounts to forgery.
The DCI noted that those with such certificates are suspected to have colluded with rogue officers to obtain the documents as they are unwilling to follow the right procedures to obtain them.
Genuine certificates, according to the DCI, are generated to individual applicants through their e-citizen accounts.
Anyone found perpetrating the offence will face legal action.
“We advise all members of the public to submit their applications through e-citizen, the platform where processed certificates are uploaded for their access,” DCI shared.
