Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki, Chuka University VC Erastus Njoka and National Museums of Kenya Director-General Mzalendo Kibunjia are all scrambling for the Deep State blessings in their bid for the TNC gubernatorial seat in 2022.
Each of the three is fighting to be identified by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Hon Raila Odinga as the champion of Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) in the county at all cost.
However, Dr Kibunjia is somehow shy to engage in the open fight leaving the open battlefield to Njuki and Njoka from Chuka sub-community.
In Chuka town on Monday during an exercise to launch signature collection for the endorsement of BBI in Mount Kenya East region, Njoka demanded a chance to address the multitude claiming that he had been omitted intentionally.
When he was given the microphone, the visibly expectant don accused former Embu Senator Lenny Kivuti of being ‘compromised’ in order to deny him a chance to drum up for the BBI.
“We were with you, but I don’t know if someone compromised you to deny me a chance to speak,” said Prof Njoka.
He claimed that having served as the Ameru Njuri Ncheke Council of Elders Patron and the Ameru Professionals Association Chairman he is known by all the Ameru people and cannot be dismissed in the BBI campaign team.
When he stood to speak, Njuki, a cunning and seasoned politician avoided addressing Njoka choosing to direct his missiles to his equal; Embu counterpart Martin Nyaga Wambora for publicly asking him to work closely with the VC and a section of other leaders.
“You will not tell me the people to work with, it’s good to have at least little respect for each other and to respect the sovereignty of each county,” Njuki slammed Wambora.
Tharaka Nithi Senator Prof Kithure Kindiki is on the other side pro, hustler narrative leader and the Deputy President Dr William Ruto.
Kindiki has already come out clear that he is an anti-Deep State and is set to lead the residents campaigning against BBI.
The Senator who is also rumored as TNC gubernatorial hopeful in 2022 is a buddy of Ruto.
Machakos County Assembly Clerk Gitari Mbiuki, another possible TNC gubernatorial candidate in 2022 is yet to indicate his political camp.
