A court has barred an MP from Marsabit against linking Treasury CS Ukur Yattani to banditry attacks that continue to rock the county.
Saku MP Dido Raso was warned against uttering defamatory statements against the former Marsabit Governor over the county’s and community’s security.
High Court Judge Hedwig Ong’undi said there was no evidence that the MP had reported the alleged involvement of Mr Yattani to authorities and “should not incite people to violence to destroy the character of the CS”.
The temporary injunction, the court said, was for the sake of security in Isiolo and Marsabit.
CS Yattani said on January 18, the legislator uttered defamatory statements against him in relation to the insecurity incidents in Saku which the MP insisted was just ‘fair comment’ over a matter of public concern.
