A man who attempted to defile a 13-year-old while heading to school at Changinywa village in Makueni County has been charged.
Mr Peter Odongo reportedly waylaid the girl while cycling to school, grabbed her by the neck and dragged her into a nearby bush.
The girl however managed to escape home and later reported the matter to her mother who alerted police and enforced the arrest.
The suspect was arraigned before Makindu Law Courts and charged with attempted defilement.
