Police in Meru have been allowed to continue holding for 10 more days a county government worker implicated in the brutal killing of her boyfriend.

Ms Florence Kanario, 31, stationed at the Meru gender office is suspected to have stabbed to death a court clerk Swaleh Kalema who hailed from Kisauni.

The court clerk’s body was found dumped by the roadside in KK Igembe Central moments after he left a hotel in Laare in company of the woman.

The two, who were cohabiting in Maua, are said to have before leaving the joint quarreled after the woman accused the lover of seducing a waitress at one of the popular entertainment joints.

Detectives had sought more time to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death after ruling out robbery with violence.

The deceased’s wallet loaded with cash and documents were ostensibly untouched.

Reports indicate that the duo arrived at the hotel around 5pm Sunday and left together 10 hours later.

A CCTV footage submitted in court shows the woman storming out of the hotel and going towards her vehicle after having a confrontation with a waitress.

Minutes later, the man walks out of the hotel with the waiter and moments after boards the wife’s vehicle and they drive away.
