Four people, among them three old women, suspected to have bewitched a Form Four Candidate in Kitutu Chache, Kisii County have been killed by irate residents.
The four reportedly made the student dumb and lured him from their house at Mbanda village to accompany them on Saturday night.
A ritual had to be conducted to cleanse the student and help him regain his speech after which he named the suspects.
Furious residents ambushed the four at their homes, killed them and later set their bodies on fire.
Some paraphenalia reportedly recovered from their homes were also set ablaze.
A local adminstrator said four people who led the mob in killing the suspects were arrested.
“They will be arraigned in court tomorrow (Monday),” Marani Deputy County Commissioner Patrick Murira told The Press Point.
