Former Football Kenya Federation President Nick Mwendwa has been arrested over corruption allegations a day after Sports CS Amina Mohamed disbanded the Federation.
Mwenda was arrested by plainclothes police officers at a hotel in Nairobi and taken for questioning at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Nairobi.
He is linked to irregularities including failure to account for over Sh500 million allocated to the federation by the government.
CS Amina has formed a 15-member caretaker committee which will act for a period of six months. The suspect is expected to appear before the DCI on Saturday for more questioning.
