Children to two Isiolo county government officials were among the top 10 best KCPE candidates in the county.
The two are Salad Abdulsamad and Kellen Waweru who were the third and sixth-best in Isiolo after scoring 407 marks and 400 marks respectively.
Mr Abdulsamad is a son of the County Director of Communication, Governor’s Press Service while Kellen is daughter to County Water Executive Josephine Eregai.
The two pupils attributed their performance to hard work and support by the teachers and parents.
“I put a lot of effort in the languages (which I had challenges with) and it bore fruits,” said Abdulsamad who hopes to join Mang’u High and later pursue an Engineering course.
His elated father said they supported him to revise while at home during the Covid-19 nine-month break and that they also encouraged and motivated him to work hard.
For Kellen, who is passionate about empowering girls, came with a lot of dedication and hard work.
“I dedicated most of my time to learning and what I got is within my target of 400 marks and above,” she said.
Ms Eregai hailed girls from the county for outshining the boys but encouraged boys to work extra hard.
Eyanae Ashiki Casimir from Loreto Primary was the county’s best with 416 marks.
Other best-performed candidates included Tracy Kanana (405 marks) and Kabale Idris (403 marks) from Little Angels Academy, Macci Primary’s Godana Boru Godana (394 marks) and Yusuf Malfata Guyo of St Kiwanjani Pry who scored 393 marks.
