Eight out of 14 inmates who escaped from the Nanyuki GK Prison in Laikipia in the wee hours of Saturday morning have been arrested.
The prisoners were arrested during dawn operation by officers from Kenya Police and prison after the around 1 am incident.
Manhunt for the six escapees, who include two murder suspects and a pair facing robbery with violence charges, is underway with the public asked to share information to assist in their arrest.
They include James Sike, Francis Kamau, Nangoye Lenawaso, Patrick Fundi, Tetkor Mareri and Lereiyo Lekiare.
