A 14-year-old boy was Thursday evening crushed to death by an elephant at Milima Tale area in Oldonyiro ward, Isiolo.

The minor identified as Seretu Lenkulia is said to have been herding the family’s livestock when he was attacked.

Isiolo Sub-County police boss William Kiambi said remains of the deceased and his blood-stained pieces of cloths were recovered Friday morning.

“The crime scene had blood stains and footprints of the elephant,” Mr Kiambi told The Press Point.

The remains have been moved to Isiolo Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

The incident comes two days after a couple sustained serious injuries following an encounter with a lion at Elsa Ntirim area in Burat Ward.

Mr Michael Apaiyu and his wife Susan Chebet had gone to fetch firewood when the incident, that left them with life threatening injuries, occurred.

The couple is hospitalized at Isiolo Referral hospital.
