At least 13 county assemblies had by Tuesday noon endorsed the BBI bill surpassing the 24 required threshold to hold a referendum.
The counties are Nyamira, Tharaka Nithi, Murang’a, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Lamu, Kakamega, Mombasa, Makueni, Machakos, Garissa, Narok, Kitui, Taita Taveta, Meru and Nakuru where 62 MCAs votes yes while 11 opposed as three abstained.
They join Homabay, Laikipia, Samburu, West Pokot, Kisumu, Kisii, Vihiga, Siaya, Nairobi and Trans Nzoia that earlier passed the Amendment bill.
