At least 10 people have died and several others injured in separate banditry attacks in the last two weeks at the border of Samburu and Isiolo counties.
The latest incident happened on Saturday where six people were shot dead at Attan in Ngaremara ward after a fierce gunshot exchange ensued between two communities.
Police reports indicate that the attackers suspected to be from Samburu attempted to steal cattle from Turkana herders while pretending to be grazing their livestock near the area prompting a shootout.
As a result, five attackers and one herder were killed.
The incident occurred barely two weeks after four people were killed and another injured when bandits ambushed herders near Kamanga on the Isiolo-Samburu border and walked away with hundreds of goats.
Burat Ward MCA Yarrow Hassan called for speedy action by the security organ to prevent further loss of lives and properties.
“More officers should be deployed at the border to prevent further attack and secure our people,” the MCA said.
A cleric and a 14-year old boy were early this week shot when unknown number of attackers raided a home in Mwangaza area in Isiolo town stealing 87 goats that have since been recovered.
