President Uhuru Kenyatta has mourned the death of State House Comptroller Kinuthia Mbugua’s mother Loice Njeri who died while receiving treatment in a Nairobi hospital.
While condoling with the family, the Head of State described the centerian as a hardworking and progressive community leader who cherished education.
“Mama Loice was a strong advocate of family values and despite growing up during the colonial era, she ensured her children received quality education,” Mr Kenyatta said.
The President said she also valued women empowerment and promoted agribusiness in efforts to boost income for women in her community.
“We appreciate the role she played in ensuring food security in her community besides being a role model to other women of her generation,” he eulogized her.
Mr Kenyatta said Mama Loice will be remembered as a courageous, brave and selfless leader who endeared herself to many through her generosity and love.
“It is my prayer that God comforts the larger Mbugua family and give them strength as they come to terms with the passing away of their family matriarch,” the President said in a release.
