A 32-year-old man has been arrested as the prime suspect in the mysterious killing of his wife whose decomposing body was found dumped in a thicket in Naivasha Kongoni area.
Preliminary findings linked Julius Owaka to the killing which neighbours said could have been as a result of domestic squabbles.
Duro area residents said the couple had lived together for five years before their marriage turned rocky forcing them to go separate ways last year.
After the separation, the 26-year-old estranged woman left to her parents’ home, several kilometres away.
The man however early this year started making romantic overtures to the deceased in efforts to rekindle their fading love.
The lady would then leave the parents’ home on January 31 only for her body to be discovered nine days later in a thicket, two kilometres away.
Mr Owaka was arrested at his Githurai 45 hideout.
His arrest, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations said, will assist in conclusive analysis of the matter as detectives had already taken DNA samples from the crime scene.
