Police have arrested a notorious fraudster while selling someone’s apartment in Nairobi’s Westlands.

Mr Hussein Fakhruddin Mohammedbhai was pounced on by detectives while almost sealing a deal that would have seen him obtain millions of shillings.

The 30-year-old from Imara Daima estate was disposing the three-bedroom apartment worth over Sh40 million at a paltry Sh11 million.

Forensic document examination and handwriting experts established that the criminal had forged a title deed certificate for the property and entered into a deal with a real estate company to sell it on his behalf.

The property owner however knew of the dirty deal and reported the incident for legal action.

The suspect, police reports indicate, is a serial con and had earlier obtained nearly Sh9 million in similar scheme.

He will be arraigned tomorrow before Kiambu Law Courts for obtaining money through false pretence.
