A court in Wajir has jailed for 50 years two men for trafficking bhang worth Sh21 million.
Abraham Hassan and Mohammed Oloo were arrested in April last year at Athibool in Wajir while ferrying 700 kilograms of the narcotics.
The bhang, disguised as bags of cement, had been stashed in a compartment at the top of the lorry.
In a ruling delivered by Senior Resident Magistrate Mugendi Nyagah, the pair were also slapped a fine of Sh63 million.
Mr Hassan, who skipped the court session, was sentenced in absentia and his Sh1 million bond forfeited to the State.
A warrant of arrest was issued against him with the lorry’s driver given 14 days to show cause why the vehicle should not be forfeited to the State
