The Devolution Empowerment Party will in two weeks time reveal the Presidential candidate it will support in the August elections.

Party leader and Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi has turned down overtures from ODM Leader Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja and Deputy President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza coalitions.

The leader has in the past insisted that the party will field candidates for all positions except the Presidential one sending mixed signals.

During a recent meeting in Isiolo, Mr Murungi said his DEP party will not join any alliance and that those willing to work with the party should join it and not the other way round.

He has revealed that the Bus party will make it public the Presidential hopeful they will support during a National Delegates Conference on March 18.

Mr Murungi said having been in opposition for 10 years before joining government, he was able to realize development while in government.

“That is why we shall join the team that is likely to form the next government so that our county will be at the centre of the government,” he said.
