Police in Mombasa have arrested embattled Gremon Education Center principal Nancy Gashewa and a Class Four pupil for injuring Class Seven boy over Chapatis.
Reports indicate that the principal beat up Caleb Ngure for taking five Chapatis instead of required one during dinner at the school a week ago before ordering other pupils to rough him up.
The injured boy, whose predicament was discovered a week after the incident following deterioration of his health was so feeble and could not eat or walk by the time he was rushed to Coast General Hospital.
The two are detained at Shimo la Tewa Police Station where they will spend for next seven days as detectives conclude probe before they are arraigned.
Meanwhile, the school’s primary wing has been closed over non-compliance as learners set to be placed in neighbouring schools according to Mombasa County Director of Education Peter Magiri.
Worried parents were Wednesday barred from withdrawing their children from the school.
