Reports have emerged that two victims of last Saturday’s Mwingi bus tragedy had predicted their deaths before it happened.
According to St Joseph Seminary Director Fr Jeremy Munyoki whose bus was ferrying the choir members to a wedding ceremony in Nuu, two of the institution’s staff members who perished in the accident that claimed more than 30 lives had conversations that depicted some kind of premonition of their deaths.
One of them, identified as brother Stephen had on Monday told his colleagues that he would not finish the year alive.
“He had told them that though all of them were younger than him, he knew he would not finish this year,” said Fr Munyoki.
Another Ms Judy Mutinda, according to Fr Munyoki, had called her mother minutes before they tried crossing the swollen River Enziu requesting her to take care of her son in case they did not manage to cross successfully.
“Her mother narrated to us how Judy called her (while at the river) while waiting for the water to subside and told her in event the bus is swept away by the raging waters, she should know that she had lost her last born daughter,” he said.
A requiem mass for the 33 victims was conducted at the institution on Thursday as the families prepare for their send-off.
