Kenyans have expressed disatisfaction with the National Police Service for maintaining that the 7PM bars restrictions were still in place despite President Uhuru Kenyatta lifting the 10PM-4AM curfew.

The NPS said enforcement of the rule that require all bars within the country to close by 7PM will continue.

“Following the vacation of the Covid-19 associated curfew by President Kenyatta, existing measures on closure of bars remain in place for now,” NPS shared on Twitter.

But Kenyans told off NPS for introducing alleged contradictory orders.

“We do not need the bars but beer na masaa ya kukaa nje. Tumewaachia hizo bars,” Vick Mutu responded.

Alex Kamau Chui said the directive was in bad taste and that police should allow Kenyans go about with their businesses with minimum interruptions.

“Political rallies Corona huwa haispread but kwa bars, that is where you draw the line,” Karani Mwangih replied.
