An Isiolo MCA hopeful who was reportedly assaulted by two Isiolo county officials on Sunday has called on police to expedite investigations and bring to book the suspects.

Mr Jamal Ahmed, eyeing the Bulapesa MCA seat in 2022, was beaten up by the two men while at a hotel in Isiolo town injuring him on the right side of his face.

The two accused persons work in the Municipality and Governor’s office according to Mr Jamal who has already recorded statement with police via OB No 34/18/7/21.

The Press Point is reliably informed that investigators are also relying on eye-witnesses to establish what transpired before Mr Jamal was hit.

Police sources said investigations into the incident had been launched and that the two-county officials were being pursued to record their statements.

“The two accused persons will be sought to give their narration so that we interrogate the information from both sides before arraigning those culpable,” an officer who did not want to be named as is not authorised to address media said.
