Activist cum politician Mohammed Abdullahi popularly known as Medize Medize has quit the Isiolo North MP 2022 race.
Mr Medize on Sunday evening announced via his social platforms that he was no longer interested in Isiolo politics and will going forward be remembering Isiolo residents in his prayers.
“I am out in Isiolo politics. I am not interested anymore but I will keep remembering Isiolo people in my prayers,” he shared online.
Speaking to Press Point, Mr Medize said he now wants to focus on his personal life as the political path had become dirtier citing betrayal by close friends and voiceless people he has been passionately fighting for with some local leaders and politicians insulting and humiliating him.
The activist, who is living with a disability, had earlier said “If you have money just go to Isiolo and you will be elected” what was construed to mean that local politics were based on handouts and not policies.
“I have volunteered for many years and fought for the rights of the less fortunate and those with special needs but the dirty political environment could worsen my health and do me more harm than good,” Mr Medize told Press Point.
He maintained that he was not supporting any of the contestants but asked the residents to make the right decision.
“Do not be deceived with money. Look for the suitable leaders with best policies and who will steer our community to a higher level,” he appealed.
Among those vying for the seat is incumbent Hassan Odha, Ms Lucy Mworia and Mwenda Thuranira.
