Bulapesa residents have elected 10 people to steer development programs in the region for the next three years.
Among them is Mr Patrick Muniaru (youth), Ms Modesta Abei and Lydia Ntinyari representing women and Mr Fred Okumu and Godfrey Gitonga representing Men were picked from Waso Location.
The leaders will join five others from Central location who were elected last Thursday and one person will be nominated at ward level to represent Persons living with Disabilities.
The 11 members will form the Bulapesa ward planning committee.
The elections were organised by Merti Integrated Development Programme (MID-P) in partnership with USAID.
Central Assistant County Commissioner Samuel Gichohi lauded the leaders for the victory and asked them to diligently work for the people as the community had a lot of trust in them.
“Offer exemplary leadership because our people have shown they have trust in you and therefore should not let them down,” Mr Gichohi said.
The committee will besides leading development initiatives in the ward play crucial role in formulation of the annual development plan which will be factored in the county government’s budget.
The adminstrator asked them to work closely with their opponents in bettering the ward through enhanced development.
MID-P Executive Director Molu Tepo asked the leaders to work together and the public to offer the committee the requisite support.
The ACC appreciated the vital role that area managers and county and national government adminstrators continue to play in ensuring quality, effective and efficient service delivery at the grassroots.
Bulapesa ward adminstrator David Mwiti asked the committee to serve the community diligently.
