A 41-year-old woman from West Pokot County has shocked her husband who she has been in marriage with for 20 years after she abandoned him to marry the Holy Spirit.
The mother of six who works as a town council officer promised a hand in marriage to the unseen being at a ceremony presided over by a local pastor done at a local hotel.
The pastor, Albert Rumaita of the Makutano Anglican Church of Kenya, said he had no option but to preside over Mrs Elizabeth Nalem’s wedding which he said was a sign of the end of times.
The cleric bought the woman a wedding gown and also funded the event, including hiring vehicles that drove the bride to the venue.
Mrs Nalem said she had served the world for a long time claiming that the Holy Spirit had now directed her to serve the Lord.
Her husband, Joshua Nalem said he had paid dowry of 15 goats and 22 cattle and was confused on what step to take next.
Mr Nalem said their tribulations started when the wife started waking up very early in the morning to pray, and on enquiring, she would run away at a neighbour’s place where she would spend the night.
