The Kisii mother who gave birth to quintuplets at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital last week has lost one of the babies, an underweight girl.
The 25-year-old first-time mother had given birth to four girls and a boy who weighed between 1.1kg and 1.5kg.
The babies who were delivered prematurely were placed under the New Born Unit, with close surveillance from doctors at the hospital.
Mr Douglas Maoko, the babies’ father said plans were underway to have the girl buried, while the rest remain in hospital until they all attain a minimum of 2kg.
