A Sh96 million water project, whose construction is about 60 percent complete, is expected to address water scarcity by providing Korbesa and Mata Arba areas with permanent supply from two boreholes in Merti, Isiolo County.
The project that will benefit 1800 households, five schools and four dispensaries is being implemented by National Drought Management Authority (NDMA) in partnership with Northern Water Works Development Agency (NWWDA) and Isiolo County government.
But a fresh row between Devolution CAS Abdul Bahari and Senator Fatuma Dullo over lobbying of the project could delay its completion.
While Senator Dullo lobbied for the project through NWWDA and which is the major contributor, CAS Bahari claims he is the one who pushed for the funds to be released.
The Press Point is aware that the CAS intends to conduct site visits without notifying the vocal Senator to hoodwink residents that he was the one who lobbied for the water project.
Mr Bahari, who lost in the 2017 Isiolo Gubernatorial elections, is said to be angling to contest the same seat or that of Senate in 2022 polls.
