The simmering differences between a controversial group of Isiolo activists under Isiolo Human Rights Defenders have sparked mixed reactions online.

The fallout between Ibrahim Wako aka Chikicha (Coordinator) and Abdikadir Hassan has played out in public with the latter accusing Mr Chikicha of preaching water but taking wine.

The two officials alongside Chulu Chui, known for making reckless statements, are known supporters of Senator Fatuma Dullo and Woman Rep Rehema Jaldesa.

The row between Ms Dullo and Ms Rehema over BBI is believed to have contributed to the divisions between the activists who have split into two-one faction supporting the Senate Deputy Majority leader and the other supporting the Deputy President William Ruto’s ally.

Mr Wako has in past days been spotted at the frontline in Ms Rehema’s meetings and in recent one done on Friday, was the Mcee and took part in the distribution of items donated by the county MP.

In an ugly twist of events, Mr Abdikadir accused Mr Chikicha of having turned a formal Whatsapp group, Isiolo Human Rights Defenders with 203 members, into a campaign platform for faction allied to DP Ruto.

The official warned that the group will be closed if Mr Chikicha does not stop posting content against the group’s rules and regulations.

“Chikicha you have gone against our forum rules and regulations and turned the group into a political platform for Tangatanga and that is not allowed. You know very well that we do not do politics in this group. If you continue with such character, I will close this forum,” Mr Abdikadir warned.

A member Ms Fatuma Hassan said “We will not tolerate this, be warned”

Two hours later, Mr Chikicha accused Mr Abdikadir of posting BBI issues saying “Even BBI issues should not be discussed in this forum. We are following and know you always post BBI issues. We will be monitoring”

The scuffle ensued after Mr Chikicha posted a message on Ms Jaldesa’s empowerment program for women and youth groups that was launched on January 22, 2021 and a photo of a shoe shiners shade donated to six youths by the MP.
