A decomposing body of a 23-year-old male nurse has been recovered in a rented house in Chuka town, a week after he went missing.
Foul smell emanating from the house, that was locked from the inside, forced the neighbours to report the incident to police who cut windows’ metal grills to gain access into the room.
Police officers who visited the scene on Wednesday noticed patches of vomit on the floor and on the wall of the bedroom according to Meru South Police Commander David Ngondi.
The decomposed body lay on the washroom’s floor.
“Three half smoked rolls (of suspected bhang) and an unidentified liquid was recovered,” he said.
The deceased graduated last year with Bachelor degree in Science (Nursing) and was on an internship program at the hospital.
The deceased family has asked police to speed up ongoing probe to establish the cause of their kin’s death.
