Chief Inspector of police suspected of sodomising six boys in Chogoria town, Tharaka Nithi County has been arraigned in Chuka court.
The senior police officer Mr John Kimathi Marete who is in charge of Mitheru Police Post in Maara Sub County was arrested yesterday after four young boys aged between 14 and 15 and two young adults aged 18 and 19 were found sleeping on the floor in his house.
Before Chief Magistrate Mr John Njoroge, Directorate of Criminal Investigation handling the matter sought five days to conclude the investigations and charge the officer who will remain at Chuka Police Station cells.
The officer leading the investigation told the court that according to the initial investigations, the matter could be involving more children and that there was need for in-depth investigations.
Asked whether he was against the DCI request, Marete told the court that he had no objection to the plea of more time.
Magistrate Njoroge said that the suspect will be brought back to the court on December 29 for mention and further directions.
Residents and parents of the teens from Ndunguri village claimed that the boys have been living flamboyant lives and whenever asked the source of the money claimed that it’s from a business of selling chicken.
Asked on their close relationship with the officer the boys argued that he was their main chicken customer.
“The used to suspected all was not well between the boys and the officer because they were seemed to have a lot to share,” said one of the parents.
