Detectives in Kiambu have arrested a prison warder who is suspected to have been on a mission to kill his girlfriend for reportedly conning him Sh900, 000.

Edwin Omuse based at Kangeta Prison in Meru County was last seen at Kangeta market carrying a gun hidden in a sack.

Acting on a tip-off from the public, the sleuths arrested the man at his to-be victim’s house in Thika town where he had gained entry in the room using a spare key and sat waiting for the fourth year Mount Kenya University student.

Police reports indicate that Mr Omuse had already assembled the G3 rifle and hid it under the coach ready to unleash terror on the woman who had been flown to safety by the police.

The officer had already called the lady and enquired about her whereabouts before his arrest.
