Kiambu politician Gladys Chania who has been linked to the death of her husband George Mwangi did not attend the burial in Mangu, Gatundu North, Kiambu County.
The billionaire operated businesses in Kigali, Rwanda under his Double M company.
Ms Chania only shared a message reminiscing the good days she shared with the slain husband who she got married to in 1998 and who she termed as loving and caring.
“I thank God for the way you cared for our family,” her condolence message read by a family member read out in part.
Saying the man’s death had left void in her life, she admitted that like other marriages, they had lows and highs but “we held our love for each other”.
Ms Chania was Monday this week released on Sh1 million bond and two sureties of similar amount.
Police believe the politician and her co-accused and farmhand Maurice Mbugua murdered Mr Mwangi on the night of October 8 before dumping his body in Kieni forest four days later.
Mourners at the burial ceremony asked security agencies to expedite ongoing probe so that the killers are arrested and prosecuted.
