President Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed 24 new envoys and high commissioners.
Among those appointed is Nyeri Deputy Governor Dr Caroline Karugu and National Assembly Clerk Michael Sialai to serve as Kenyan ambassadors to Denmark and Namibia respectively.
Others are Tomas Kwaka Omolo, popularly known as Big Ted, and former Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru appointed as Consular-Generals and deployed to Los Angeles in USA and Democratic Republic of Congo respectively.
President’s niece Margaret Wambui Ngugi will represent Kenya in Netherlands, former Principal Secretary in IT Dr Bitange Ndemo in Belgium and lawyer Paul Ndung’u in Mozambique.
The appointments were communicated in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Also in the list is Diana Kiambuthi (Rwanda), Nyambura Kamau (Pakistan), Amina Abdalla (Sultanate of Oman), Leonard Boiyo (Turkey) and Tanzanian’s Isaac Njenga.
Maj Generals George Owinow, Thomas Chepkuto and Andrew Ikenye were deployed to Uganda, Somalia and Nigeria respectively while Michael Oyugi will represent Kenya in Spain and Boniface Mwilu in Qatar.
