It will no longer be business as usual for Isiolo county government workers who have been skipping work denying residents crucial services following the swearing in of new governor Abdi Hassan Guyo.

Delivering his speech shortly after he was sworn in, Mr Guyo said his administration will not entertain lazy and corrupt employees in efforts to ensure proper service delivery to the electorates.

“If you are a county employee and you are not at your duty station I advise you to report to your work places and start serving the people of Isiolo because it will no longer be business as usual,” he said, assuring residents that he will deliver all the pledges he made during campaigns.

The county boss promised to prioritize completing three stalled mega projects of stadium, modern market and the export abattoir, before initiating new ones.

His Deputy Dr James Lowasa said their government would provide servant-leadership and assured that they will revive all the services that had stalled.

“We are not Waheshimiwa but your servants and we shall strive to tackle all the unique challenges (you face) from wherever part of the county you are,” said Dr Lowasa.

The leaders maintained that their government would be all-inclusive and would serve everyone regardless of their tribe or religion.

The ceremony that was presided over by High Court Judge Richard Mwongo and Isiolo Chief Magistrate Lucy Mutai was attended by Senator Fatuma Dullo, Woman Representative Mumina Bonaya and NLC Commissioner Tiya Galgalo.

Others at the event were NCIC commissioner Danvas Makori and local leader Mwenda Thuranira who unsuccessfully vied for Isiolo North MP seat.
