Police in Kuresoi South, Nakuru County have launched investigation into a case where a 23-year-old woman reportedly poisoned her four-year-old daughter intending to kill her.
The woman had separated with her husband who took off with their two children.
Three months ago, she visited the husband and requested to take the girl with her claiming they were to attend a burial ceremony and that she needed to introduce the child to her relatives.
According to the victim’s father, the estranged woman would afterwards be unreachable on her phone.
The Olenguruone village incident was reported by the suspect’s brother who also rushed the child to hospital for treatment.
The suspect was later arrested and arraigned in court where the police successfully sought 10 more days to complete investigation.
